Photo-Synthesis > Mama Curved Billed Thrasher keeping beady watch over her nest in a cholla bush- at the San Pedro Riparian Area near Sierra Vista, Az. "Glowing edges" photoshop filter was added later for dramatic effect.
Photo-Synthesis > "Blacker Curved-Billed Thrasher":

Mama Thrasher still on her nest in the cholla bush at the San Pedro Riparian Area near Sierra Vista, Az, springtime, 2006.
Photo-Synthesis > The Emergence
A multilayer photo collage 2 copies of the same photo were used- one was blurred and rotated, and the other was left in it's original form. Then I stacked them, withthe blurred layer on top. The eraser tool was used to erase the blurred image where the butterfly was layered below, bringing the butterfly into the blurred vortex.
Photo-Synthesis > Pinecone Bouquet

A digitally-arranged photocollage. I took the photos of the pinecones, and scanned the pressed leaves that we had found on hikes and in our backyard garden. The backgroundis a piece of handmade paper. All were arranged together in photoshop, and a dry brush filter was added to give each element some texture.
Photo-Synthesis > Modern-Day Atlas:

This was my very first digitally manipulated photo. (I think in 2005) My son posed separately from the giant globe that we found at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson.
Photo-Synthesis > Tangerine Dream
This is a digitally-arranged photocollage. Textures were achieved by using scanned handmade paper as a background ,combined with different amounts of opacity of the photos layered on top of it. . Digital "painting" with different photoshop brushes was also used.

I wrote the double haiku from an online haiku blog that offers writing prompts. The prompt for this haiku was to use Beatles lyrics in a visual, yet original way. Can you guess the song I chose? (-:

The song/haiku inspired the collage later on..
Photo-Synthesis > The world is safe!
This was also one of my first digitally manipulated photos. Son posed on top of a concrete pillar. I added him to the background in a photo editor program. We had so much fun with it!
Photo-Synthesis > "Welling Up"
This is a digitally combined watercolor and salt resist painting with images of Empress Tree blossoms.
Photo-Synthesis > "40"
A good friend sent me a retro pink bathing cap for my 40th birthday. She found it at a yard sale in Seattle. I smushed it onto my scanner, and digitally combined this image with a watercolor and salt resist painting I made. This is the result. Joy, joy, joy!
